Cats Move To Stop Nathan Ablett Rumours Club Health

Geelong have issued an update over the AFL future of Nathan Ablett following rumours about his welfare.

The club decided to issue Monday's media release to dispel the unfounded speculation, which had gathered momentum over the weekend Club Health.

Ablett quit pre-season training late last month and is understood to be travelling in Victoria.

"Geelong does not expect an answer from Nathan Ablett regarding his playing future until the new year,"Club Health the club said in a statement.

"The premiership forward has been travelling since he decided to take time away from the game and the club, which has been in regular contact with Nathan, said today that it had not put a time frame on a decision from him."

Ablett, who turned 22 last week, is the son of AFL Hall of Famer Gary Ablett and the younger brother of Cats star Gary Ablett Jr.

The two Ablett brothers played in Geelong's premiership team this season.

Several Cats officials have kept in touch with Nathan since he decided to stop training at the club.

Club Health It is understood that he is in good health as he weighs up whether to continue his senior football career.

Geelong had to carefully coax him to join the club, with Nathan wary of the publicity that comes with his famous family name Club Health.
